Love Distancing

Love Distancing presents a collection of digital paintings created by Thai artist Vasan Sitthiket during the Covid-19 lockdown. After returning to Thailand and entering a period of self-isolation, Vasan produced hundreds of works on his iPad, reflecting on the pandemic, social responsibility, uncertainty, and hope. Twenty-three selected paintings form the core of the exhibition, accompanied by works from guest artists Akkachet Sikkakun, Tripuck Supawattana, and Warawut Intorn, whose contributions address different aspects of the Covid-19 crisis in Thailand.

Presented both as a physical and virtual exhibition, Love Distancing explores how art can adapt to changing circumstances while remaining accessible to audiences. Through vivid digital imagery and socially engaged narratives, the exhibition encourages viewers to reflect on collective responsibility, resilience, and the importance of caring for one another during times of crisis.

At its heart, Love Distancing is a reminder that love extends beyond personal affection—it is also an act of responsibility toward society.

Love Distancing เป็นนิทรรศการที่รวบรวมผลงานดิจิทัลของ วสันต์ สิทธิเขตต์ ซึ่งสร้างสรรค์ขึ้นในช่วงการแพร่ระบาดของโควิด-19 ระหว่างการกักตัวอยู่ที่บ้าน ศิลปินใช้ iPad เป็นเครื่องมือบันทึกความรู้สึก ความกังวล ความหวัง และผลกระทบทางสังคมที่เกิดขึ้นจากวิกฤตครั้งสำคัญของโลก ผ่านภาพวาดที่สะท้อนทั้งมิติส่วนตัวและมิติทางสังคม

นิทรรศการนำเสนอผลงานจำนวน 23 ชิ้นจากวสันต์ ร่วมกับผลงานของศิลปินรับเชิญอีก 3 ท่าน ได้แก่ อรรคเชษฐ์ ศรีกัณห์, ตรีภัค สุภวัฒนา และวราวุธ อินทร ซึ่งร่วมถ่ายทอดมุมมองต่อสถานการณ์การแพร่ระบาดในประเทศไทย

Love Distancing จัดแสดงทั้งในรูปแบบนิทรรศการภายในพื้นที่จริงและนิทรรศการเสมือนจริง สะท้อนการปรับตัวของวงการศิลปะต่อวิถีชีวิตแบบใหม่ พร้อมชวนผู้ชมตระหนักถึงความหมายของความรัก ความรับผิดชอบต่อส่วนรวม และความหวังที่ยังคงดำรงอยู่ท่ามกลางช่วงเวลาแห่งความไม่แน่นอน

“The key message of this exhibition is to take care of yourself and the people you love. We have to be careful not to contract the virus even when the people we love visit us. Love is a responsibility to society. During the initial lockdown, I did not leave my place and did not allow others to visit me for five months,” said Vasan.
